Smile AS Bambi Sport 22' with Tacoma questions

Hello,

We have a 2009 Toyota Tacoma doublecab that is rated at 6500# tow and 600lb hitch capacity. We are contemplating buying a AS Sport 22 (or a FC19) because we think our vehicle would be a good match. We live in Victorville, CA and would drive the Cajon pass to most of our destinations. Is anyone using this combination and if so, what advice can you provide? Will we need airbags on the rear suspension? What WD hitch would you advise and why? PS, were new and have no towing experience.

You should be fine with either one but you will need a WD hitch (we have the Reese) with anti sway. TbRich has a 19' Bambi with the same Toyota and might chime in or PM him. There are all kinds of opinions on the Tow vehicle and weight distribution hitches but we like the Reese and haven't had any issues. Good luck and keep us posted on what you end up with.

Yes, we have an 07 Tacoma V6 Doublecab and we tow a 2006 19' Safari SE which is the same as a newer Flying Cloud 19'...

Our Tacoma has a factory tow package, which is important. We don't use any additional suspension modifications.

We use an Equal-i-zer Hitch set up and like it a lot...very easy to use.

You should be fine with either... We travel all over the mountains of AZ and NM, and some in SoCA, SoUT...
