I forgot the passenger trailer issue. It is a state deal. In AZ, one must be seat belted in the passenger cabin if seat belts were manufactured for the vehicle. Passengers may ride in the back of a pick up truck with no restraint system at all.

Here is a recap of state laws for cargo areas:

www.aap.org/advocacy/archives/pt00.pdf

And looking at the Arizona Revised statutes for transportation, I do not find a restriction for passengers in trailers.

Here is the list I was referring to. I have a friend whose wife is disabled and can't set up for more than a few minutes at a time and he wanted to know if she could ride in the bed in the trailer. Here is what was found (scroll to right side):

If you are going to buy a new truck, Toyota has completely revamped the Tundra for 2007 with a reported towing capacity of 10,000 lbs. The truck is also bigger and will compete in size with the GMC/Chevy Sierra HD trucks (it will still be smaller than the F Series Ford). From the pics I have seen it looks kind of like the Dodge Ram. Supposedly it will be out sometime at the beginning of 2007. There have been rumors that they will make a diesel version but it will most likely not be released in 2008 or later.

Interesting..~

I just had to put a new compressor in my 2003 Suburban's air conditioner. Of course it was out of warranty. The burb is the first American built car I've had in twenty years.

Makes that 2007 Tundra look attractive. Maybe in a year or two.

My Toyota dealer told me that the dealers would all have 10 - 15 each of the new 2007 Tundras by sometime in Dec. He said Toyota plans a big marketing launch of the new design and wanted all dealers to have plenty on hand.

Toyotas vs. '94 Dodge Ram

Been through 5 Toyotas, currently '03 Tundra, '04 Matrix, and haven't had a SINGLE re-call. I had a '94 Dodge Ram that I swear had a stack of recalls when I brought it home from the dealer's. 3-4 sets of discs ("You're not driving enough!") AC compressor etc.

My '03 Tundra pulls my 22' Safari no problem and I'm currently looking for a
25' Classic, 95' or newer, that I won't be concerned about towing. I don't tow extensively or in mountains, but I think a 31' loaded would give me food for thought when braking with a vengeance! Fog

You may want to check on that. My 2003 Tundra had the lower ball joints replaced as part of a recall notice. It may have just been the 4x4 units. I love my Tundra also! I pull my 75 TW with no problems.
