Loud PSD? LOL! All new pickup diesels are pretty quiet nowadays, but you can't even hear an old PSD running max load if there is a CTD idling in the same state.

Make that an early 12-Valve Cummins; pre-1998.

My neighbor with the PSD and sound-attenuating devices deleted from intake & exhaust has that Ford garbage-truck-with-a-cracked-muffler sound happen'in, even at idle. Mines practically silent by comparison.

Personally I've been thinking of picking up an old Dodge M37, FFPW or a WC series truck to restore as a tow rig for my '65 Safari.
