Hello: I just purchased a 2004 25 Airstream (SS). I have read that the new Ford 150s (2009) have a towing capacity of 11,300 pounds, but I'm not sure about other features such as the brakes, transmission, etc. Also I was told you don't need sway bars on these new 150's.

I am partial to Ford 150's. Would the 2009 F 150 (5.4 liter engine) V8 be appropriate for this trailer, and is it true that sway bars are not necessary on this model?

Thanks

YEP, that would work, Just make sure you get the 3.73 rear end.

Now as far as sway control goes they are suppose to have it built in, and I remember seeing a video on it.

Personally, it looks like a fancy anti slip deal. I would still put a real anti sway bar on it. They aren't that expensive and they really work well....

Just make sure you get the right tow package they make a lot of different ones... and you want the double cab with the 145 in wheel base not the short 126 in one..

Even if it doesn't sway, you still need weight distribution and a WD hitch will provide sway control as well as weight distribution.

Agree.... a quality WD hitch with sway control, properly set-up, is an important part of towing, not an option, a necessity.
