Hey Folks,
I've read thru alot of the info on this site about towing & yet I still feel the need to put myself out there for a beating
I have a '97 TLC w/ a 4.5 liter I-6. It's got enough torque to climb a tree. Weird thing is, the manual says 5k lbs max towing, the same as the smaller & weaker 4-runner.
In this corner, weighing in (according to
www.Airstream.com) @ 3715 lbs is the '03 19' Bambi. In that corner coming in @ a bit more heafty 4920 lbs is an '02 Safari. Add two or three 6-packs of beer and some refreshments & I'm up to my 5k lbs w/ the Safari.
Looking for some justification here for the Safari, any one want to give me any? Live in S. Cal & will be doing some minor moutain driving, 3 - 4,000' pass near by. I know I can do the Bambi w/ no issues, but I can get a deal on the Safari & I prefer it for it's size.
Regardless of the trailer, I have the factory tow-package, what mods would I want to make to it?
Tnx for any answers.
