F-150 is a wonderful vehicle plus when you unhook it's 20mpg and drives like a car with a 6'6" clearance for parking garages. Going up the Rockies I didn't have to use the right lane if I got behind a slow truck and needed to pass, plus the 36 gallon gas tank is also awesome. Have fun with whatever you decide.
75 Bob-
I hope your fuel burned was way less than 1300 gal because if it really took that much fuel then your MPG was actually only 6.38 MPG (8300 divided by 1300 = 6.39)

gas mpg

The gauge on the dash was also reading 13.6 while I was pulling? I only posted what the trip meter indicated at the end of the trip. I have to manually push the tow button each time I started (with trailer attached). Do you think the truck can differentiate when and when not the trailer is attached and then have the trip gauge separate the mpg? I distinctly remember telling my wife "Oh look now were at 20mpg" when we were driving around in San Francisco. I was so happy, now it sounds like the gauge is broke. Oh well, so much for modern electronics. Too bad it was the only time I had ever really used it. Now it too can join Hashtag, Instagram and tweeter in the Delete section of my Trash container. One less thing to think about. Thanks anyway Mark

Thank you all!

Thank you all! We bought a 2017 3.5l V6 Ecoboost with the 3:55 axle, max tow package (7000#) for our 2017 25' FB Flying Cloud. I appreciate everyone's input and insight. I thought finding the trailer was tough! Finding this truck was not easy. There were actually only about three with this exact set up near us!

Now, on to hitches.

Congrats on your new TV! Just curious what the stated payload is for your new truck.

That 7k# number is your rated gross weight, not the tow rating. A '17 Max tow should be rated around 11k# for towing, so you'll be tongue-weight limited more than anything else.

Hi JoeHLP and jamlarcara,

Could you elaborate on specs of your 3.5 Eco V6 F150s, such as:

model (XLT, Lariat),
cab type (SuperCrew vs SuperCap),
bed type (short vs long),
wheelbase (145 vs 157),
driveline (4x2, 4x4),
Equipment Group (i.e., 500A, 501A, 502 etc)?

And what other options do you have including the max tow package?

Thank you.
