2015 GMC brake controller

I have a 2015 GMC with the intergrated brake controller that will not operate the brakes on my recently purchased 2009 30' classic.

Sounds familiar. I've had a difficult time getting my 2013 Ram integrated brake controller to work with the brakes on my 2009 new (to us) AS. Still do not have a resolution.

I assume that it worked fine with the previous owners vehicle? What was his TV?

This seems to be a common problem with integrated brakes. One of the reasons I didn't immediately switch to disc was after a bunch of research I learned I'd have to get a new controller and remove the integrated one as it's not compatible.

I'd work with the folks at TUSON on the antilock disc brake question.

Tow vehicles are disposable, they come and go.

Sorry to hear about the integrated brake controllers not working with your truck. My 2013 F150 with the towing package adapted to my new 2015 Airstream without any fiddling. My best guess is that the wiring on your trailers is not exactly matched to your trucks wiring and therefore your truck's computer is not recognizing that it has a trailer attached. I would carefully evaluate each and every connector on your trailer and verify each one is exactly matched to your truck's wiring. Many folks neglect the ground when wiring the trailer since it is connected to the truck with several other metal contact points. Good luck!

Our 2015 Yukon Denali with integrated controller works well with our 2015 25' FC. The AS has drum brakes, and the AS dealer did the initial setup.

I have a 2015 GMC also. Sometimes I have an issue with the controller with a utility trailer I have. What fixes it, is to clean the terminals with contact cleaner and push the connector very hard into the socket to get the best connection. Haven't had any issues with the Airstream connector.

Not disc brakes on my 2009 AS. Standard drum brakes.

GMC Brake controller

I have a 2011 GMC Denali HD. My brake controller gain is set about 7 for my 28' 2012 international. When you plug in the trailer, the information display on the dash should indicate the trailer is connected. There are some very good videos on Youtube from GMC on this. If the gain is not high enough the brakes will not engage hard enough. also insure that the ground in the trailer connection is good between the trailer and the truck, it is the return path for the brake controller.

My 2015 GMCSierra controller work well towing my 31with E/h disc brakes. I set the gain at 8 or 8.5 and I get great modulation. Happy with my set up.
