2015 F250/350 Diesel?
Looking for feedback on the 2015 model F250 of F350 diesel. I recognize any feedback is likely based on low mileage and short term use. However still interested in the latest experience:
Any issues with the new turbo design?
Fuel economy?
Reliability issues?
Build quality?
Thanks

Since 2012, the Ford designed diesel engine has been the top performer with the highest HP rating of the big 3 . The Ford TorqueShift transmission is second to none and is better than the Allison. One thing to look at is checking to see how many TSB's (Technical Service Bulletin's) are listed for the 2015. Also, call 3-4 Ford dealers and ask the service managers how many 2015's they get in for warranty issues. The 2015 6.7 is rated at 440 HP which is 40 HP more than the next Chevy engine with the same or better mpg rating.

I have a 2015 F-250 diesel crew cab with a long bed. The truck has about 21,000 miles on it of which about 9,000 are towing our 27' FB. Now that we have passed the engine break in period, we get about 12 mpg towing on the highway at 60 to 65 mph, 14 mpg around town when not towing and about 16 mpg on the highway at 65-70 mph also when not towing. We have had no warranty issues so far and enjoy the truck very much.

Bob, I am bit surprised by the solo highway mpg but it is a heavy vehicle.

We have a 2015 F250 with about 15000 miles. Some 6000 of those have been pulling our 2012 30 ft FC. No problems to date. Been very pleased. Our normal driving yields 17 mpg, however, we live away from any towns of size. Towing mileage is between 12 and 14 depending on terrain.

I seem to get the lowest mileage of anyone who reports on the Forum. Truth be told, I rely on the on-board computer for these figures so it is possible that if I measured my mileage each time I filled my tank my real-world mileage might be higher. But I'm not so sure. I do notice that wind direction can make a big difference, once when we had a big tailwind I was getting 19 mpg on the highway (when not towing.)
In any event, towing with a big truck and a diesel is a real pleasure so I don't mind.

just turned 10k in my 2015 F350 crew cab. i have about 2,500 or so towing our 25fb. because for us to get most anywhere, aside from the coast, this includes mountain passes in WA, ID and MT. this last swing of 1,000 miles only entailed one pass with a very long approach and a very steep decent. had to do this in both directions based on where we were headed.
posted speed limits on secondary roads, 13.8 mpg for the entire trip. usually running solo at interstate speed of 70 or so, 19-21mpg.
it is interesting that there was a service bulletin the last time i took the truck in to the dealership and they updated the onboard computer. i actually believe that whatever this update was has cost me 1mpg towing or solo.
but at the end of the day, this 1 ton is one great truck for what we do around here. it is the first truck in a long time that i will simply go out and drive for virtually any purpose.

Your 2015 diesel won't even be slightly broke in until 25k when you will see some increase in mpg.

That would be nice! I'm closing in on that target, at 21K now.

I have a 2015 F250 6.7 4X2 3.31 Crew Cab short bed with a cap. New truck, 5,500 miles, about 1,100 towing. No warranty issues, quality excellent so far, hav'nt been back to the dealer except for an oil/filter change at 5K. I've been getting 12-13 towing, 17 around town, and 20-21 on the highway not towing.
