My Stat's

2002 F-250 Crew Cab
7.3L Diesel
225,000 miles
Cold Air Intake w/K+N Filter
Large Diameter Exhaust
Superchips Progam

Gainesville, GA to Nashville, TN on backroads and over the mountain on I-24 - and back. Me + wife + 2 kids + general junk. MPG = 19.5. Superchips on PERFORMANCE setting.

Same folks + camping gear + 25' 1986 SOV. Gainesville to Gulf Shores, AL. BOTH WAYS. MPG = 15.0. Superchips on TOWSAFE setting.

Had to look behind me to insure camper was still attached. Used Cruise Control the entire stretch of highway (about 300 miles each way) and the truck NEVER downshifted as long as cruise was set on 65. Passed everthing.

Your results may vary...

That's quite a pic of a Tundra hanging over the guardrail! Everybody said those frames were weak.

.
2004 Dodge.

All miles the past 18,000 = 23.76 mpg; combined city and highway (mainly latter); loaded and empty; solo.

19 city and up to 27 highway. (see sig)

I, too, do not understand the horsepower war. The new Ford has TWO coolant systems. Etc.

At 305HP/555TQ I've never felt the need for more . . . except, more fuel mileage while pulling or carrying a heavy load.

With the stock 35-gl tank (this truck is unmodified) the range is always above 700 miles (plus a reserve).

Except that it's a 1993 or earlier Dodge.
