2010 Buick Enclave as a tow vehicle?

Enclave has a 6 cylinder 288 hp engine, gross vehicle weight of 6,400 lbs, a curb weight of 5,400 lbs, tow package to bring it up to 4,500 lb rating. What is my max for a airstream vehicle weight? thanks

Figure 80% of the tow rating. That means you might be able to handle a Bambi.

If properly set up, you could also handle a lot of the '60s and early to mid '70s trailers, some of them up to 24', and still only around ~3,500 lbs.

The Globetrotter, and Safari models from that period are possibilities.

Even the 1981 International and Excella II models of 20 to 24 feet are less than 3,500 lbs.

I saw Andy from Can-Am in London, Ontario towing a 2008 34 footer with one. I love all three versions of those vehicles. I hope one day to get one. Check the Can-Am Website for lots of interesting towing info.

I had a good look at one in a parking lot today. They are nice. The very wide stance and short rear overhang may be part of the reason reports have been filtering through they are a very stable tow vehicle.

There's talk/evidence that the new Suburbans will be based on this platform.
