Does anyone have experience with towing a 25' safari with a 2008 Toyota Lancruiser or 2006 Range Rover? This would be for a trip to the Canadian Rockies and Pacific Northwest.
Thanks
Greg
I believe we've had some real-life experiences reporting that a Range Rover isn't a very good tow vehicle at all. Go to Search, Advanced. Search only on the word Rover and limit the search to 'Titles Only.' Read away please.
Thanks for the help. My current dilemma is that my daily use vehicle is a 2003 Landcruiser and I bought a 2007 Toyota Tundra last year to tow the airstream (the Tundra worked great on our trip out west last year). I was considering trading in my Landcruiser for a 2008 with the same engine the Tundra has in an effort to not be paying for insurance and maintenance on 2 vehicles. However, it does not seem to be a good solution based on the feedback. Thanks again.
Greg
Between the Tundra and the LC, I'd take a properly equipped Tundra, but after seeing these videos and others like it, showing pickup bed movement due to the frames, I might also think otherwise about a Tundra too. I'm not a Ford guy, but have to give it to Ford, not at all....that frame they have and their truck line for that matter are impressive though:
I'm not sure either would be a good choice for a 25er up mountains.
LC has I think less than 120" wheelbase. Engine is pretty good, but it's a unibody.
I wouldn't tow a golf cart with a Range Rover.
The Toyota Landcruiser has a 112" wheelbase. Perhaps a little short on anything 25' and up. The 5.7 liter engine is more than enough to tow a 25' tt. This is a unitized body but on a heavy steel frame. This vehicle weighs 5600 lbs.
