2007 Tow Car of the Year Awards

Considering these combinations are "not" using a WDH they are impressive performers. Wondering if their Tow Ratings are handicapped by that factor as well as their tiny Euro spec'd engines. Engine sizes are 1.5 to 3.2L. This Subaru WRX is 4 wheel drive and has 250HP. Solo 0 to 60MPH is 6.2 sec.

Oh - I get it. These are supposed to be award-winning toads rather than tow vehicles.

Pretty cool. I see they said they only loaded the test trailer to 85% of the car's stated value. That trailer must be pretty light to begin with! Interesting that at those weights they are referring to them pulling mid-size trailers. Those would be ultra-lights in the US!

can someone post the link to the thread of that video that shows the little car going uphill with the two bikers in the foreground...i don't want to spoil it, but someone out there will know the link. it's very appropriate to be in this thread and i can't find it anywhere.

Caravan magazine - Airstream Europe

Anyone check out the Airstream Europe website?? Pretty cook & innovative use of space.

Are the shells manufactured at the Mothership & finished off in the UK? It looks like this is the case as the door is on the roadside for the UK, yet the appliances & appointments are European.

The roof vents look like boat hatches and the sat dish dominates the roofline when open - wonder what a Alde 3010 boiler & wet central heating system are, as well the Dometic CK150 extractor??? (stove exhaust vent???)

LOL... ya but some of these statements from the article are interesting to say the least...

superb fuel economy

the throbbing exhaust note brings a smile to the face

Ironically, the ingredients that make the Impreza WRX good as a boy-racer also make it a superb towcar

The powerful engine and four-wheel drive transmission mean that it makes light work of pulling a caravan

the hard sports suspension means that it is very stable when towing at speed

Even with a caravan on the back it was fun to chuck around the test track, with nimble handling

I gave the E320 diesel good marks for handling, stability at speed and performance

Otherwise a great car which will be very relaxing on long-distance towing trips and will make light work of towing almost any caravan you care to hitch up

The Mazda tows like a dream, with a torquey engine and precise handling.
