Its here....
Took delivery of our tow vehicle last week. 2000k on the odo so far. I look forward to each mile, Will hopefully have photos in less that one week.
Like Big Dee said the Quadra-steer makes it turn soo quick that almost every time I stop someone wants me to make a 360^ turn for them. To give you an idea of just how sharp I can make a U turn in side of most fuel pumps. I have already towed my wife's car on a U-haul car tow dolly and I had to get out and check as I made a u-turn because I was afraid the sides of the dolly would rub her car. It did not.
The Burb is still breaking in, so no mpg numbers to report. I love the fact that I can leave the burb in 2 wheel drive and use on demand four wheel drive or 4 high /4 low with the push of a button. (the jeep was always in 4wd) The auto ride feature makes the ride equal (if not better) than my brothers 50K plus sedan
The Onstar directions and phone are hard to describe,, if you have never been in a car that has them. For example we were on our first trip and wanted a specific drive through , we talked to the operator and told her that we wanted a drive through less than one mile off I-81 (she already knew my location, speed and direction of travel when I pushed the button) We decided on a drive through about 10 miles ahead and then she gave us turn by turn directions (I just pushed the record button on Onstar and recorded them for later play back)
Onstar people are great they love to unlock your doors for friends, they actually encourage you to call (its free and they feel that it helps sales)
Lets not forget X-M radio. In less that 1 day I was hooked. I have the inhome receiver and have not listened to a commercial since. We will have a plug in on our trailer for the X-M radio. Way cool.
Now if we could only get that Airstream. Come on November...

Yes,
Chevorlet is very specific when you order Quadrasteer. You are limited to a few colors and only the 6000 vortex, but with 325 hp and 365lb of torque what more could you want. With our 4.10 gears I am rated for 9600 trailer weight. Our 27 is some were around 60% of max, right where I wanted it...
Will have exact weigthts we we take delivery...

Awesome Abe! Another convert to Quadrasteer. You can imagine how I impressed people by doing figure eights TWO YEARS AGO! People could not believe their eyes! I suspect that in a few years, after GM loses the exclusive deal with Delphi, every truck will have it! GM is now offering it on work type trucks. Also the towing benefits are UNBELIEVABLE! No one can understand til they try it.

Had some tech problems with the 04 burb. GM took care of me and just switched me into a 2005 burb. I opted for the 3.73 gears this time. I will keep you all posted.

Curious what problems you had with the '04. We are dickering on an '04 demo but may hold out for an '05.
You ok losing the 4.10s?
Did you ever develop any MPG numbers?
Abe, I too am interested in hearing what issues your '04 had as we too have an '04. PM me if you'd like to keep it offline.
Thanks!
Eric,
My problem was tech related with the Q-steer. Only less that 400 04 burbs were made. My problem was with the 4 wheel steering. I had a warning light that would tell me to "service 4 wheel steering" It appears to have been a computer problem that GM is adressing. GM did replace my 04 w/a 05 after the local dealer tried to fix the problem 4 times.
I was the first person in Virginia to have the q-steer burb and very little was known about the q-steer.
Since April much has been learned about the system and I think a fix is very near. As far as driving, the light is no real problem, you just have to restart the car and press the 4 wheel steer button.
I had a choice for a refund or the same car and I picked the 05. I love the quadra steer and am sure that GM will continue to work on this very minor problem...

Curious what problems you had with the '04.Tech related. only with Quadra steer. A warning light that made you re-start the burb. We are dickering on an '04 demo but may hold out for an '05. The 0% fin for 60 mo is a sweet deal. Go ahead and order it just like you want it. We love the camper mirrors and the 2nd row captains!!!
You ok losing the 4.10s? yes. the 4.10 was rated for 9300# the 3.73 for 7300# Our 1976 Overlander is well under the 7300#
Did you ever develop any MPG numbers?
The 6.0 Vortex with the 4.10 was a thirsty guy. Some where in the mid teens. I loved the 37.5 gal tank I had a 500 mile plus range solo. So I would say mid teens for the mpg. Will let you know how the 05 does with the 3.73 after it breaks in.
Good luck!!!
Abe
