Question 16 foot airstream bambi ?????

I have a 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and thinking of purchasing a 16ft bambi sport with a gross weight of 2900lbs. My Jeep is rated for 3500 lbs. Will it be safe for me to tow that trailer???? Thanks for advice.

In my opinion it should tow it just fine. If you have an automatic transmission you might want to put a transmission cooler in your Jeep if you will tow in hilly country or in frequent headwinds. A Jeep and Bambi seem like a nice combination.

Welcome to the Airforums Adkinsde!

That Jeep has a nice wheel base. Should tow fine with the new V6.

I tow a 16' bambi with a Jeep Liberty CRD (diesel). It has a similar wheelbase and it tows great. I have the tow package and it's towing capacity is rated at 5,000 lbs. My bambi CCD weighs in at 3,500 lbs. I would also recommend a transmission cooler.

Take a look at this thread. Wound up with another Wrangler owner buying the same trailer and being happy.

I'd highly recommend you add a set of Firestone air bags with the compressor, so you don't wind up like this.

you want to add 1,000 lbs to your dry weight (personal item weight adds up, so does water if your boondocking), a tranny cooler should increase your towing capacity (make sure your hitch is of the appropriate weight as well) & would be worth the investment
