08 Vue Towing

Just got the base plate on the Vue installed $650 plus seperate taillight wiring $250.
Car weight 4025Lbs, 26 ft 02 Landyacht 13880Lbs wet, total 17,905Lbs.
Workhorse P32 chassis rated at 19,000Lbs. Do I have this figured right about being legal?
Also, you must pull the 2amp ign fuse or your battery goes death within the hour. Found this out the hard way, with no help from Saturn Custm Support.
No wounder they are going broke, with techs like that.

Welcome to the forum! I am a bit concerned about your numbers:

Weights: curb weight (lbs) 4,325, gross trailer weight braked (lbs) 3,500 and max payload (lbs) 569

This is from the Saturn Website. According to their numbers tha max for towing weight and cargo in the VUE would be 4,069. Also you need to recheck your trailer weight. A brand new 27FB is 8,800. Look forward to your corrected numbers.

When "they" wired in the lights on the VUE did "they" install diodes to the VUE wiring? - For 250 bucks, "they" should have.

I have a Saturn SW2 toad, but have never experienced a battery drain, and have never had to pull any fuse or breaker prior to pulling it - the 4 down sure is nice.

Combined weight needs to be less than 19/22K GCVR as per the off-site specs below - The GVWR (15 to 18K, depending on the chassis) is the LY itself, and the GCWR is the LY combined with anything towed. If you are at 17.9K for the combined weight, you should be OK.

Have you actually weighed the VUE or the LY ready to travel?? The weights you have quoted above seem to be really light (both the LY and the VUE).

If you haven't, please post the discrepencies here to share the "actual" vs the "stated" single and combined weights - you may be really surprised at the actual weight. Usually, most of the "advertised weights" - not to be confused with the ratings- of the MoHo's are less options and liquids. It's ALWAYS best to weight them yourself at a CAT scale - then you know for sure! Be sure to have the MoHO "set up" for travelling (full fuel, normal water, and propane, clothing, tools, and "other stuff" when you weigh it.

Numbers

My 27 FB is an 05. The plate on the trailer says 7600lbs GVWR.

When I weighed it last month the steering axle on the truck (3/4 ton GMC) was 4380 lbs, the drive axle was 4660 and the trailer axle was 6140, for a total weight of 15180 lbs.

I hope that someone else will post some numbers so that we can compare.

Appears to be some confusion. I think kmamedia is towing the Vue behind a motorhome.

Does the Vue really weigh in at 4000lbs? or is that GVWR on door tag.

It seems a bit much. I figured maybe 3300lbs max.

I weight the Motorhome and the 08 Vue together on a truck scale, the weight is correct.
I was not talking about what the vue can tow.
Just got back from a 600 mi round trip to Fredrickburg,Tx and was impressed with the pulling power of my 8.1 vortec.
I did have aproblem with the ignition switch on the workhorse chassis.
