Winter Living In Washington X2

Last year I spent a good portion of the winter living in my Airstream close to Olympia Washington. This year I'll be doing the same.

Yesterday I pulled the Overlander out of the storage yard where it had been since October, and into the Washington Unit's Land Yacht Harbor.

The good news is, I must have done a passable job winterizing, no broken pipes! Also no leaks or other damage.

It was though so darn cold in here that it took most of the day for the trailer to become comfortable. A good scrubbing today, and some time with the exhaust fan going chased the storage smell away and I write this from the comfort of my front goucho.

I did have one minor problem. Setting up yesterday my 'Thetford to Valterra' sewer hook up adapter broke, and not a one to be found locally. Luckily, Vintage Trailer Supply has them, so my emergency repair will not have to last too awful long.

I presume that there will be one or two more minor issues before the winter is out, but last winter was extremely comfortable in this much used, but much loved trailer.

I've been living in mine since June. The only negative thusfar was Christmas Eve when the power went out in my neighborhood. The furnace needs a little juice from the battery to operate, so it was a chilly night for me and the pups.

Ben,

There are a number of pics on the Unit Website:

I found though on my first visit that it is quite a bit nicer than the pics would lead one to believe. It is beautifully maintained and very secure.

Cameron,

I am lucky in that mine came with a cat. heater, but I don't know how well it would keep the Overlander in very cold weather.

I went to your blog. Are you still at the harbor? Our 1978 Argosy is stored there now. We have been very pleased with the harbor! Judy
