dual pane windows
Yall,
My 71 has dual pane windows from the factory. From what little I know about the history of my camper, I believe it came out of the Carolina's also.

Skirting an Airstream
We have made a few custom skirts, here are some pics, most customers say the floors are warm again and they save more than half of the propane costs.

nothing new
Mine was done on the trailer when new.....never to hit the road. Sat like this till a few years ago. The bad part is that the skirt was made from .20 alum. and riveted to the side bottom. I still have all the sheeting.

What keeps the waste pipe from freezing other than good drainage?

We skirted a trailer in Colorado
This is our first time skirting an Airstream with a slide, these trailers are made so much better than the other brands out there. This customer has a mud room complete with woodstove that slides in to his trailer, works great, we also added a cat door for him, now the cat can go under the skirt and up into the mud room.
This customer is on cement but we also put on nail down straps in case he moves. There is also a sewer zipper access area as well as drop down Velcro areas for storage and valves

We skirted an Airstream with a slideout this week, these trailers are made so much better than the others out there, we put nail down straps on the skirt incase this customer moves, there is also access to all storage areas with Velcro Drop Down Access, the skirt is made into 5 pieces for ease in storage or access

Ours is not air tight, but in Oklahoma the wind is the culprit, We had found this (looks like a) seven-eleven vinyl sign wrap around mounted to aluminum square tubing. And since I paint signs we had it laying around all Summer- so I figured I would take some of it and cut it as corrrect as possible to set around the base of the house...thats why it looks 'boxy' but it virtually weighs nothing and we wired it together. Here's a shot or two....

Can anyone describe the mud room and how to design it to fit the side of an AS?

Does the mud room actually "curve" to follow the AS?
Any thoughts would be appreciated?
Happy Holidays.

Whirlaway, this pic in post 29 suggests something form fitting. Similar to rubbery material to adapt jetway to a fuselage as you board an airliner?
I have seen an ad for an Airstream for sale with a shed built right up against the coach. The door was gone and they went too far in sealing the shed to the side. Sad really...
I like the cat idea. Most useful to keep inevitable rodents suppressed under the skirting!

The mud room the customer had made out of scrap it is on wheels and rolls over to the trailer has been cut to the curve of the Airstream he also has a soft edge on it made out of some flat rubber and also pipe insulation on the edge of the wood. Inside it has a wood stove a nice chair and a multiple shoe rack as well as a cat bed. When it is pushed up close it's very warm and cozy, his cat can easily get in and out. There is the usual outdoor type of carpet in it and in the summer the windows open for a breeze. It was all made on a 2 X 4 frame and 1/2" plywood.
