Michigan to Florida in January!!!

First big trip with our Airstream but finding a place to camp for 30 plus days has become an issue. Internet searching not looking good. We want to stay south of PortCharlotte on the west and Melbourne on the Atlantic East and move to a new location in the area or further south for another 30 days, until March 2016. IM learning that reservations a year in advance is not uncommon for long term stays but the Gipsy in me says keep looking. Any places to consider would be helpful. Our likes would be electricity, water and sewer if available. We could use the dump station if sewer was not avaible at the site.
Thank you in advance Lake State

Finding a site on the coast in southern FL during snowbird season can be a challenge. Land Yacht Harbor is an Airstream park in Melbourne FL you might try there. We stayed at Silver Lakes RV in Naples for a week in December it was a nice park but not inexpensive.

Here is a link to a thread with FL beach places to stay http://www.airforums.com/forums/f42/...da-130556.html . Some are in the southern part of the state. If you are retired military most of the Florida Bases have RV parks as well. Lastly if you are willing to go north of I-4 in the central part of the state you may have better luck. Salt Spring Campground in the Ocala National Forest is a nice full hook up campground if you don't mind being about 20 miles from shopping. Half their sites are first come first served.

Hope you find what you are looking for.

keep watching Reserve America web site for cancellations at FL State Parks. Sebastian Inlet and Jonathan Dickinson (Pine Grove loop) are nice State Parks on the east coast below Melbourne. Jetty Park is a nice county Park at Cape Canaveral on the ocean. JP's booking window opens 6months in advance. Ortono South is a Corp of Engineer campground on the Okeechobee waterway (very isolated) and a nice park. W P Franklin is on the same waterway a little closer to Ft Myers. Again both have a 6 month booking window.
Myakka, Oscar Scherer, Koreshan and Collier Seminole are on the west coast south of Sarasota. Collier Seminole has been closed due to renovations, but may be reopened. Ft Desoto Park is a county park near St Petersburg and they hold about 10% of their sites and make them available on Friday for the next week. Also the booking window opens 6 months in advance.
Most private campgrounds in the Keys are vey expensive. However rates at Big Pine Key Fishing Lodge are not a lot higher than Bahia Honda State Park which is located less than five miles north. The sites are tight and the campground will spot your trailer for this reason. Beware the Fishing Lodge does not allow pets because of the "Key Deer" than roam thru the campground.
All of the campgrounds listed have 30 amp electricity, water and a dump station. Very few have sewer connections.
Good Luck with your search!
