As we just inherited 92 Excella and have NEVER gone RVing previously, we are getting our Airstream checked out and ready to go for a few months this winter. We just retired 2 yrs ago, live in Mid-Missouri and want to go south to warmer climate for two or three months this winter. Probably not Arizona but need some suggestions from you that have experience in this. We have two small, 4 legged kids that go with us so must be pet friendly, not too expensive, not totally in the boondocks and hopefully near the beaches or within reasonable driving distance. We have a 1001 questions as we are new to all of this but if anyone can point us to some good parks, maybe in Texas or so, we would appreciate it.

If you have the Interagency Senior Pass or Access Pass (available at any National Park) you can try any of the Louisiana State Parks as a camping destination. They're open year-round, and the Interagency passes get you half-price on camping, usually $9~$10 per night vs. the regular $18~$20. Grand Isle State Park is on a barrier island, right next to the beach. There are two state parks within the New Orleans metro area (St. Bernard; Bayou Segnette), three right on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain (Tickfaw, Fairview-Riverside, Fountainbleu). Though slightly farther away, Bogue Chitto State Park is my favorite, so far. If memory serves, all have water and electric, some may have sewer hookups as well (Bogue Chitto does, for sure, at its upland site).

Although they don't honor the Interagency passes, Mississippi has a state park (Buccanneer State Park, Waveland, MS) not too far from the gulf coast casinos, that is also within easy range of New Orleans.
