Of the entire surrounding area we got the most. The place I store my trailers and my clients is so far into the woods, I cannot even imagine how long I will have to wait to get into there. Last winter we got about 8" total all winter long, the year before we got even less. I spent ten hours running a snow blower up and down the driveway to get us dug out. Surprisingly I can drive to the store if needed.

Snowed here, too

Frank,

Looks like you got a little more snow than we did. We're still running on a generator, though.

Keep digging,

Roy and Marie

Snow in Georgia

On the way home from Florida in 2009, at the Ga./FL state line, it started snowing and didn't stop even after we got home 8 hrs. later....we left 80 degree weather and came home to 25 degrees and no power. This was in March, we don't get this type of snow ever! Made it without an accident. I was more worried about someone plowing into me, than me running into someone else. Don't want to go through that again.

When we have a dry winter here, it often happens that the East gets slammed. The mysteries of El Niņo. We've had a little more than 20" this winter. Last winter when Frank was getting 8", we had 65". That was a La Niņa winter. The Polar Jet Stream is weak this year and cold air is going further south. NM and Arizona are getting more snow than we are. Even when it snows, it can amount to little—yesterday it snowed much of the day, but only around 1/2" actually fell.

Indiana snow

Just wondering why I'm stuck at home in Indiana now that I've retired. I must be nuts. I could be sitting on a beach having young native girls bringing me tropical drinks.

Airstreams in the snow... how about 28 inches. Without power for 34 hours, so we're using the Honda generator to power the essential utilities like the pellet stove, lights, charging the laptop and phones, and keeping the Bambi warm. The utility company said this could be a multi-day event. The last time I heard that bureaucrat-speak people were without power for over a week. The roads haven't been plowed and I have enough gas to last about 12 more hours. We didn't winterize because we were going to The Mardi Gras Rally. Due to the above, and property damage due to the blizzard, this probably won't happen. A tree limb crushed my gazebo. We live out in the sticks, so we're not exactly a priority with the road crews or the utility company. I would take some pictures, but it's too depressing right now.

On the positive side, I found that the icicles that formed on the Bambi can be used to chill my whiskey.

Frank,

The Cadillac is in the picture, but I accidentally left the top down, so it filled up with snow and you can't see it.

Actually, it's been a long time since the Caddy has seen snow, so I opened the garage door, to let it have a look...and to get the snow blower out. The good news is, we have street power again.

Roy

Hey Grand Master,

I know why you're still in Indiana..........you got to get your medication adjusted because you can't get that tin can to where the natives are from there. Quit looking at the snow before you go blind and see more of those mirages bringing you drinks.

Snow-storm, Austin-Texas-Style

This was from a MAJOR snow storm in Austin last year.
