Replacing Carpet in 1986 31' Sovereign: where to put seams?

I am preparing to replace the carpet in my 31' Sov. I was hoping someone could share some insight as to where to have the seems. I can't get one 'piece' to run the length of the floor and I was hoping for some suggestions.

I am not a big carpet fan. I have Pergo in my trailer and most of my house. You could always do some areas in Pergo (or other brands of flooring) and others in carpet. I have seen trailers done this way and they look great. Pergo makes end pieces for the transition from carpet to the laminate.

Thanks. I was thinking of doing that. I would put the pergo in the entry area. We used to live in Glendale, at 67th and Happy Valley rd. We weren't AS owners at the time. Now in NE.

We are having carpet put in our trailer this week, in order to not have any seems, we have to buy the carpet to the length of our trailer, the roll is 12ft wide so we will have left over carpeting... not cheap to do it this way but we didn't want a seem. Luckily, our trailer is 25 feet (closer to 22 on th inside) instead of your 31 ft. Richards suggestion on doing some areas in pergo (kitchen/bath) is a good way to get around the seem issue.

To do it right you are going to have to remove as much of the cabinetry as possible. This is to keep from using tack strips all around the edges. If you go that far install a manufactured flooring. They are easy to clean, don't show dirt, and just as easy to install.

So easy the grand kids can help.

I had carpet installed in my 1986 Sovereign because we use it in the winter & it's COLD! I didn't do it myself, but hired it out (wimp that I am). I think they put the front section in one piece & put the seam at the end of the kitchen so the hall & bedroom were one piece. If you buy your carpet at a carpet store, it's not that much more to have it installed.

I agree with the carpet - just warmer and not a problem for us to keep clean. A good installer will hide the seam.
