Painted Floors?

Has anyone painted the floors of their Airstream or other trailer? I am very seriously considering it. I'm *really* not worried about resale value. But I would like if there is advice anyone could give about this.

Thank you, love. maya

I've seen a number of floors where the floor covering was removed and the subfloor painted or stained and urethaned. If the subfloor is in good shape and can be sealed this seems to be a reasonable solution.

Thank you Janet!

I believe this is the way forward. We had a painted kitchen floor (high traffic, 50 people with boots on everyday) and it held up well. The subfloor has two spots that are damaged but are being replaced this weekend (knock wood).

I painted mine when I replaced the floor to protect it, still haven't gotten to the point of putting something over it as I continue working on it. It still looks pretty decent if you don't notice wear from heavy work going on in it and some marks from sealant drippings. Seams and floor hold down screws are visible.
I used porch and floor paint from Home Depot,
I thought of using the epoxy floor covering you can use on garage floors that they also had. It would probably hold up better than just paint.

I see no problem with it....I have a garage with a plywood floor in it. I painted the floor with 2 coats of barn paint and 2 coats of poly. I drive vehicles in and out of it and have no wear. Water, oil, nor antifreeze have left a stain.

I looked into the garage epoxy at Lowes and Sherwin Williams. None I saw was approved for wood

I am almost finished doing what you mentioned. Got tired of water leaks and soaked rugs. I removed all and stained the plywood. In the next few days I will put several coatings of floor poly on it.

When I put the oil stain down I did not wipe it. I let it soak in to blend with the water stains. I also used cpoe and sanded it. Then I used three coats of polyurethane floor varnish. It's not perfect but it's better than having soaked rugs rotting the floor. I didn't cover all openings. Some of them led to the belly tanks. Since I keep a dehumidifier on all the time I figured to leave them open. It would remove any condensation that accumulates below.

Wondering if you painted your floor, and how it turned out?

I have stains on my tiny floor space from moisture seeping under, and have been reading about painting it with porch and deck paint...it seems fairly foolproof and straightforward, and I have read of this down for years on floors such as a household laundry room and holding up well.

My flooring is completely intact, but the light colored "cork" flooring makes the stains very obvious.

Anyone else painted their vinyl/linoleum floor, rather than replace it?
