New to flooring but making do ….question

hi guys

I've layed 3/4 inch plywood down so far. Next step is to find some commercial grade flooring as i'm putting in a retro "checker" style floor. Any ideas as to what type would be good?

I'm new to flooring and this is my first time doing it. Any input would be great….dont want to go heavy ceramic style….just want to know what options to look at.

thanks!

Tarkett is also a manufacturer of Vinyl Composite Tile (they are the makers of Azrock, Johnsonite and Expressions flooring). It is used extensively in commercial and institutional applications. If you desire a natural product, linoleum by Marmoleum is an option.

You may also want to look at a sheet product if it going in a concession trailer. Fewer joints and seams may make cleanups a little easier. Armstrong also makes that product. Look also at marmoleum.

I laid 6" x 36" vinyl planks and it has been the one renovation item I regret. The seams have been an issue.

I don't know if its because I put it down in November (colder month), didn't use enough glue or its just not the right product for the application. The seams shrink when its cold leaving an 1/8" gap and swell in the heat pushing them up against each other.

If given another opportunity, I would choose a product that comes in large sheets.

Good Luck!
