Molding/trim on a wood floor

I'm struggling to find the right material to use to trim out my new wood floor in my '89 Excella. I've tried 1/4 round but that can't seem to take the radius of the nose end or the tail end. Plastic or vinyl looks cheap and doesn't do the wood floor justice. Any ideas?.

Have you tried the base shoe trim? I think thats what it is called. Its about 1/4" thick or a little more. It curves a lot easier then corner round. Also have you tried steaming it to get the bends you want?

Just thoughts I had off hand. Have you considered some aluminum trim?

I'll give the aluminum a try. I wish I would have asked two attempts ago. Thank you!

I used 1 inch wide by 1/8 inch thick aluminum bar in anodized finish, with stainless steel screws every foot or so as fasteners. See photos. I liked the ability to bend it around radiused corners. They carry Aluminum bar at Orchard Supply, Home Despot, etc. Make sure you get a piece that isn't scratched up.

My 27 foot trailer required three 8-foot pieces to finish out.

I've still got some details to clean up - glue from the PO still stuck to the walls, etc - but looking good.

Rubber baseboard from Lowes or Home Depot works well making the turn on the curved walls

Eastern South Dakota is very pretty with hills, rivers, and trees.

Old thread but I really like this aluminum molding. Has anyone else done this? Is it easy to work with, cut, bend around corners, etc.?

Thanks,
John

i had the same issue on my trailer,
impossible to find aluminim trims on the market, not easy to bend them correctly, follow the curves, etc...
i didn't want to use rubber trim at all so i made a custom trim with 2 layers of aluminium,
i pressed both of them against the wall and then i drilled holes and assemble them with rivets.
