Floored by Flooring Estimate
We have been planning on getting our 2008 Classic 25fb converted to twins. The first estimate we got from a local RV repair/renovation company was for installing a new vinyl LVT click together floor in preparation to the building twin bed frames and night stand.
They would remove the rear dinette/side couch, queen bed frame, bedroom carpet and bedroom floor-to-ceiling wardrobe and remove the existing vinyl. Lay down 1/4" luan to subfloor then glue down new vinyl. Trim with quarter round molding.
Not sure why they want to use 1/4" luan. That would make the new floor almost 1/2" high.
The estimate just for the floor came in way higher than expected.
If I were to quess having twins with a nightstand and drawers under the bed and the floor-to-ceiling wardrobe modified as a hanging closet will come out more than the flooring estimate which would make the total job well north of $15k.
At that rate it would be better for use to sell our Airstream and look to a new 25 with twins and get the improvements like ducted air.
Not sure I could do the work myself without making my Airstream interior look like amateur hour.
