Floating, read the previous posts I put out after researching the product.
It looks like a floor should, real.
The molding was the second hardest part. It is 1/4 by 1/4 and bends like string. I searched and searched for something small but plain, cut all the pieces, then glued sections together, then painted with three coats and glued down.
Best Airstream floor I have ever seen so far.

It took just under two weeks for them to make it and get it to me. It is the first at the top left of the page and I got the higher priced one. The paint did not distort when I was bending it. And the glue they recommend was Gorilla super glue an instantaneous bond. It has an incredibly strong bond and made the job a lot easier in the end.

I assume you glued it to the wall and left the floor beneath to float?

Jmpgino, Floor does look good. Did I miss the brand? Who makes the flooring? Job well done.

He used Smartcore from Lowes. If you're interested in digging (or just can't help it), here's more info he posted about it:

He starts about post #93

Regarding how I put the molding down. I glued it to the floor and only the floor because I decided if the floor had issues then it would easily come up. Also I did not want to touch the cabinets.
Read my earlier posts on the flooring. I did freezer and oven tests on it, it did not expand or contract, twist or warp in any way. And when talking with the manufacturer they agreed an expansion gap was pointless considering the widths I was dealing with inside the Airstream.

I installed Smartcore flooring in my Avion in October. I have been very pleased with it - no problems with temperature changes or movement. I used the hickory color.

Jmpgino, I read your other posts, thanks for sharing. Did you install this over the existing floor or remove the existing floor? Also, did you remove furniture and cabinets to install, or just cut and match around the existing furniture?

Thx

I laid it straight on top of the factory stuff, that stuff is paper thin believe it or not.
Took a lot of scribing, and even some template making.
The round sink and bed ends were easier to deal with after some thought. The bed can be unscrewed from the floor, I was then able to lay a plank under, put the bed down, scribe the cut line, then lei ft up again and remove and cut the plank, easy. Sink was the same but I could only get a paper template for that one.
The transition into the bathroom was not easy, and again scribing got me the accuracy.
The added weight was around 90 lbs.
Next weekends project is adding an electrical heating element into the propane water heater, still thinking about running the wires as there are three options in my mind at the moment. Doing this in a 25 footer is an easy job.
