Anyone seen this kind of damage?
Good evening,
Saw this nausea inducing sight under the rubber mat I'd been using in our 2016 AI. Any suggestions for a fix or am I looking at living with this?
Thanks in advance for suggestions!

I had the same issue with my Bambi II. Sand and dirt gets under the mat. Acts like sand paper. Clean it the best you can, wax and do not us rubber backed rags. Frequently remove and clean under any rugs.

I do not know if the flooring in the AS has any poiyurethane-finish on it but I have had success in my home with a polyurethane finished wood floor in fixing such damage using a Minwax Hardwood floor Reviver product. It was pretty easy to use. Might be worth a try. HomeDepot carries a couple of other similar products.

some clear coats are water based now days. If moisture gets trapped under it will fog out like that if thats what I'm seeing.
My coffee table does that with alcohol. If I use a wax such as pledge it eventually comes back to clear.

Toung Oil. It will displace any water or condensation. Apply, rub like hell, let dry. Do not cover with any thing till dry.
That is deck flooring (land yahat) flooring. Does not like being covered.
Try a small area first to see if you like it first.
Happy Trails.

floor damage
Spread mayonnaise over the affected area. Let it sit 24 hours and then wipe it up. The haze should disappear.

"Airstream Vinyl Flooring Teak Wood Plank Style. This high quality vinyl flooring used by Airstream in Land Yacht and Interstate Motorhome".
I spoke with an A/S dealer who used the wrong type of entry mat and had to deeply discount the trailer because of resulting discoloration of the vinyl flooring.
Our new 2017 International Serenity has vinyl flooring. I'd like to know what floor mats are safe and which to avoid.

Tung oil is normally intended for wood.
Fantastic that it also benefits non-porous vinyl.

I would air dry a few days.. any oil or such will make the problem worst I fear.

I think people have given you advice assuming that your floor is real wood.
I don't think tung oil is appropriate for your synthetic flooring. It might even harm it.
I suggest you talk to the flooring manufacturer before trying anything, or you may make the problem worse.

For our new Serenity with comfort flooring, I'll most likely avoid non-porous mats that tend to trap moisture.
I'm suspicious of the closed back Airstream door mat that could trap moisture and quite possibly cause an adverse reaction with the vinyl flooring.

Home remedy
As another respondent replied, mayonnaise left on for a period of hours usually works. Try a small test area if you are worried about doing more harm.

Update: based on the comments above I decided to let the good ole' Texas heat do its thing. Uncovered the area, and left it alone (since the post), and it is back to normal with the condensation gone. Thanks for the tips! (Pic attached for comparison)
