Allure Trafficmaster flooring installation question

I am thinking about replacing the existing floor covering with the Allure Trafficmaster (the snap together kind) on my new to me Classic 31'. There is no carpet, as the trailer was ordered without. Is it necessary to remove the existing flooring or can I lay the Allure right on top?

Thanks,

>>ron<<

If the existing flooring is the wall to wall linoleum from the factory then there is no need to remove it. The new floor 'floats' above it and you only need to cut the new material around the cabinets, etc. You may choose to lay a very thin underlayment between the layers but many state that is not a requirement. Be sure to leave expansion space at the outer borders and use edging to cover the small gap.

If you try to install the Allure "click together" flooring yourself, have a dictionary with you, because you'll be saying some brand new words. It's either astonishingly difficult to install, or there's a trick to it that I don't get. I did half the floor in our Trade Wind on Saturday, and I have yet to hear anything "click."

Best advice: Get some sucker flooring contractor to give you a fixed price for the installation.
