Monroe Shock

I just spoke with a Monroe technician to ask if I could use a Monroe shock on my Argosy. The information I gave him was that the shock is mounted at approximately 20* off horizontal. He said that their shocks are designed to be mounted at no less than 45*, and they do not recommend mounting any of their shocks an an angle less than that.

Why risk using another brand shock, when the Airstream shocks cost less than $ 30.00 each?
