Your best before and after pictures

Hey...I am sure this has been done before, but I LOVE seeing all the before and after pictures of your Airstream restorations. How about making my day and post your best makeovers! Thanks!

Your best before and after pictures

Greetings Carl1949!

This before photo was taken just days before the coach was towed to the P & S Trailer Service for a fresh polish job and Plasticoat:

The photo below is of the coach a few months later after it was towed home -- in the interim not only had it been to P & S Trailer Service for the polish and Plasticoat, it had also been to Fowler Interiors in Symsonia, KY for an interior refresh:

Unfortunately, the coach has a propensity for throwing its wheelcovers and it threw one alon US-24 somewhere between the Indiana state line and Peoria, IL.

I don't have as many photos of the interior, but did concentrate a few on the bathroom refurbish. The one below is of the bathroom in its pre-refurbish glory -- stained avacado green decadence:

The photo below is of the same bath fixtures following refinishing by a local bathroom refinisher. The color was called antique pewter:

The one big remaining project on the Overlander is to have its very well worn Henschen axles replaced with new units having the disc brake upgrade.

Kevin

Thanks for the pictures! That looks awesome! How much does it cost to refurbish the exterior the way you did it? I would love to see the inside as well! The shower area looks really great as well.

Keep those pictures coming!

Kevin, I don't think I've ever seen the "before" pic of your trailer. makes the "after" look even cooler.

btw: I think I found your missing hubcap:

Here's a before and after in our Safari (the floral wallpaper border shown in the before picture was about the first thing to go!)

Great idea for a thread, Carl

I've refurbished a number of vintage trailers over the years, but this '71 Caravel was my pride and joy. I accomplished the shine with Southern Shine, despite all the pooh-poohs. It was far from a perfect polishing job but made a helluva difference.

Andre,

The polished version looks awesome, but for some reason I still like the clearcoat look. Hopefully Lazarus' pictures will be on the way soon. It's due to be finished this Saturday. I have to call SJRV to find out. I took 35mm pics last Saturday, because I can't find my brand new HP 6.2MP digital camera....arrrgh! Even if Lazarus isn't finished this weekend, I might still go up to take more pics, this time with the HP, provided I can find it.
