Wood Walls

Hi All;
Wife wants veneer interior wall on our 93 Airstream. What is the best glue
to use to bond metal to wood. I am thimking like PL construction adhesive.
I also will use rivots on edges where trim will go to cover them.
Thanks for your time and efforts.

I too would like to cover all of my vinyl with an oak veneer but until I can come up with an adhesive that will work this is going to be on the sidelines. I have tried several adhesives with little success. The PL worked for a time but let loose as did the others I have tried. I am not certain with your age trailer but on my walls there is this oil that leaches through the vinyl. I believe it is the adhesive they used to attach the vinyl to the aluminum. You might have noticed the threads on "sticky walls." This stuff is powerful and can work off even the strongest adhesive.
One thought I had was to use 3/8 plywood and then trim it our around the windows. With this method I would fasten it to the wall at the studs with screws.
Good luck to you, I will keep my eyes on this thread to see what you accomplish.

I remember that thread as it was going on, a wonderful job. I think that might be the only practical way to make a wood interior; however, I would hate to have to inform my wife I was going to do a complete remodel as he did.
