Where to get Zolatone?

I did search on this, but came up empty. Anyone know of a place in the Phoenix area to get Zolatone. I went to the Zolatone website, which sent me to some place in Texas which had a crazy website I didn't get much info from.

Try automotive paint suppliers.

Andy,
Not sure. It's very old and worn. I plan on redoing the whole thing, is there a catalog or color chart I could look at somewhere.

Thanks

Thanks Andy. Do you carry most of those colors? Also, any idea how many gallons/quarts a 22' flying cloud would take?

We can supply any of the colors.

How much depends on what kind of spray gun your going to use.

You "cannot" use a regular spray gun for zolotone.

Are you going to put down a base color first?

Zolotone is not supposed to cover 100 percent, so that your base color will also show up.

Or you can cover 100 percent, eliminating the need for a base color.

You will need probably about 4 gallons, depending on exactly what your going to do.

thanks Tim. I think I'm going to have to do a lot more research before deciding to Zolatone or not. One minute I want aluminum, another I want to do birch like Carlos. Sooo many choices, so little money...

Unfortunately, Zolatone is not cheap at about $115 a gallon. We found it was not sold "direct" by Zolatone, nor was it stocked in many places - the best place we found was an auto paint supply store.

Our 22' Safari took about 4 gallons - we bought 4-1/2 and have a bit left over - which is great for touch-ups. Here's a list of our tools & expenses from when we did ours last month (1/09). For more detail and pics, check out my "It's a girl!!!" thread starting at post #269. We L-O-V-E the end result and would do it again in a heartbeat.

As an an alternative to Zolotone you might want to check out Multispec. I did a 60 with it some years ago and it looked great. The have a version you can roll on but I used HVLP stray equipment. They now have both solvent and water based paint. It's a special order item through Sherwin Williams at about $80 /gal You also need to put down a special primer and also a clear finish coat.
