where did the water pipe go?

My 72 ambassodor center bath unit was modified when the hot water heater broke by PO. He replumbed the area under the bed and added an electric WH. I am trying to convert it back to the gas unit but don't see where the original water connection to the outside went. Does anyone have pictures or the plans of how the original water input was set up?
