During the floor replacement and remodel of the bathroom in my 70 overlander, I noticed a small brass fitting just below the license plate light. It has internal threads and goes to the outside where it is covered by a little screen. There was nothing hooked to it, and no hole for anything on the interior wall. Does anyone know what it is for?

It is a vent for the battery.
