Just for S & G's

We decided to put the couch, ottoman, and chair in the a/s to see if it would even make it in the door....Amazingly it did, but there just wasn't enough room for the chair.

So the ottoman can double as a table/extra seating...It all needs to be reupholstered...so it will likely be a lighter shade of tan.

Keep in mind that I am 6' 4" so this couch is a very nice size, and will comfortably sleep one person.

It looks like there is much more done than there really is, but it was time to make ourselves feel like we were getting something done....LOL

Thanks for checkin in as always.

Ron and Tony

Aaaaaaaaagggghhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got my trailer back from restoration. Yay! I took her out for a
weekend road trip and noticed a foot long crack in my rear end cap. Boo !
I thought I might cover it up with some left over quilted stainlees steel.
Then I saw this post and realized how cool it will look. I feel much better now ....thanks

Worth the headache

It's a pain in the rear trying to get the aluminum to fit around the endcap, but it's really cool when it's finished. Best of luck...sorry to hear about that!

Reading these posts just gets us in deeper! I can see by your photo that now we have to find an ottoman. How else will we get the recliner effect? Thanks for the nudge

ottoman issues

The ottoman takes away any ability to put much else in that space, but it's great for comfort, and as I said, it can double as a table. We are making a large tray to set on top, for a harder surface.

What else do you need? we'll work on including it....LOL!!!

Lucky Me

I was lucky enough to see TLC's work in person this week along with 87MH. It was mind blowing to see two 345's parked nose to tail on city streets a block from two of TLC's trailers. I think that the neighborhood association was getting a little nervous.

The aluminum interior and the cabinet updates were inspiring to say the least. I spent most of my return trip fabricating similar overhead cabinets for the 345 in my head. In fact I think I'll get that old rivet gun out this weekend and put up some more flashing.

It's quite a project and one that I hope to see again in person as it nears completion.

BTW - Ron and Tony were superb hosts and super fun to hang out with. Iím really looking forward to more of their projects.

Thank you!!!

Thanks Steven!!! What kind words. This was the perfect example of how wonderful this Forum is. Steven showed me how to Veneer with flashing, and I was able to reciprocate with the plexi CCD-ish doors. What a great experience this was.

I was able to get a pic of Steven trying to steal something off of Dennis' rig.... right when Dennis walked up.....

Here's the double rigs....I was more than impressed to see these guys drive around the neighborhood with these bohemoth monsters..... The picture makes the street look much wider than it really is......

Next step...Rivet Master!!!!

Once I hit submit, I will be an official rivet master....What a sad thing to be excited about. But, thought I'd do it here, on our own thread. Thanks for reading all of my other annoying 499 self centered, semi informational, ranting and raving, pathetic, sad, funny, happy, generic, pat you on the back, postings.

Darn and I almost had that new prelube system off when he caught me! Actually I think the pic is great and you are right those streets were narrow. Swinging a 345 around the Botanical Garden dsitrict is something best left to professionals like Dennis and me. Not something that just "any old 310 driver" could manage! LOL.

We should have both swung down your road and each hitched up one of your trailers...now that would have made for a picture.

Hello All....

It's been a while since i posted on this thread.

Wanted to let you all know that the Overlander is going Ebay this week, but not as complete as planned. I am selling my house, and there are many things that need to be fixed, that have been neglected since I bought my first Airstream.

There are electrical issues, as well as some other things that I haven't had checked out. So, it's going up 'As-Is' with a reserve of what we have sunk into it.

My guess is that it won't hit that, but the things that did turn out right, sure are cool.

So, I figure once it's seen on Ebay, a few of you would wonder what's up with it not completely finished.

As for the house, looking to get out from under a few bills, so Tony and I can travel. WOO HOO!!!! We need to spend some time and TLC with our Safari, then it's on to another fixer upper.

Thanks for keepin' up with us.

Ron, and TOny
