Looking good!

Couple of words of wisdom. DO NOT throw away the awning parts. That awning is no longer made and there is someone out there in need of them.

Second to get the fabric out of the awning rail on the coach, look for small screws that go into the rail, there is normally one near the front. Take it out. This screw is what is topping the material from sliding out.

Keep up the work! It will be done soon

I actually removed the screws, but still nothing. I tried to 'open up' the track a little witha screw driver, but it wouldn't budge (probably for the best). I had to buy brackets for it at Colaws, and I decided to finally put them on, and that's what started this whole fiasco. Oh, and I thought I would just throw it in my garage, it's a foot wider than the garage!!! too much stuff in there to put it in the other direction....

I hope to be able to have the Rubber part that I cut replaced at an awning maker down the road. There is also a tear right at the seam in the front of the awning..

We'll see, with it off, it's one less thing I have to look at and worry about.

If I decide to get a new one though......I will sell off the parts...Or put them on the 64 OVerlander.....

After a couple of eight hour days in the airstream, I have more done. The entire ceiling is aluminumed (is that a word? LOL) in fact all of the aluminum veneer is done accept the kitchen backsplash, the bathroom, and a few touch ups....gaps and dents. I bought a lot of aluminum trim to fininsh out a lot or raw edges....speaking of, I need to find out by blood type after all of the blood that I've lost from cutting myself on the aluminum edges.

I have ordered the frosted plexiglass sliding doors for where the tambours were, and will install a great aluminum track, that I found at a little hardware store.

As you will see from the pics, I am a slob, but I haven't screwed anything up yet, so I dont' feel the need to clean up...Tony is good at that, he only cleans up after me once in a while...LOL.

There's a pic of it taken about fifteen minutes ago in front of the house. It's great having it out here, and so far, with tight parking , no one has complained. Hopefull no one will break into it, since only a hanger is keeping it closed. I've chosed to ignore the fact that I will need a handle soon, I just can't shell out that kind of money, that is if I find the right one....

I am so releived to have the worst part done, well, that is, if I don't think about veneering the bathroom, and all of it's million and one curves....but I may do something crazy and funky in there.

Found a new source for wood veneer, from a lady who is establishing herself with her own line of high end wood furniture. Tony makes all of her cushions...so I am hoping to get a deal on whatever she can get me....

A penny saved is a penny spent on your airstream.

Oh, in the rain today, I found that the seemingly water tight vistaviews are actually waterfalls in disguise. Water everywhere....what a pain!!

I'll fix that when we polish, I suppose.....

Not much else right now, just a lot of pictures.

Thanks for taking a look....now I have to update the website (sigh).

what does CCD stand for anyway? Cool Clad Distintion.....Cold Can Design...

If I don't use the flash, the tracks blend right in with the aluminum. I used grey auto primer and covered it with Rustoleum Metalic ? It's almost the exact same color as the aluminum, with just a hint of sparkle.

I was awake until 3 a.m. and woke up at 5:30....guess I can't wait to get back out there and work on it some more!!!

As soon as I read CCD, I forgot the designer's name. It's in the new '04 airstream catalogue. CCD are his initials and he is responsible for the retro aluminum look , as in the new Bambi, as well as the very bright colors and the backlit glass (plastic?) panel doors on the overhead. Don't ask me why Airstream decided to call it the CCD look. I'm just happy that what I have to do out of necessity- all metal- is IN! COOL!hmmmm...Christopher something Dean ,maybe. Yes, I spend a lot of time thinking about mine- the major hang-up now is my hub doesn't want to do a mid trailer bath but wants to stick to the back bath. AAARRRRGGGHHH- This requires major design differences, I can't reconcil. Especially keeping the toilet in the sAME spot -back rear corner. Of course now we have a clean slate- not even plywood or pan in that area. Just air. silver suz
