What is behind the plastic

I AM NEW AT THIS SO IF I AM IN THE WRONG PLACE SORRY.CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT IS BEHIND THE THING THAT HOLDS THE CLOCK,THERMOMETOR AND THE TWO SLIDING STORAGE COMPARTMENTS,IF I TAKE IT ALL DOWN IS THER ALUMINIUM BEHIND THERE.

Hi Tracypowell,,

You're in the correct place. Yes there is aluminum but it's not an interior skin. What you'll see is some insulation and the backside of the end cap skins.

Kevin is right. You'll see the back side of the exterior. Not what you want to uncover. Is there a reason you'd like to find out?

there are cracks all over the plastic.i dont know what to do next because its very ugly.

Have you thought of a textured paint? If you could get some glue into the cracks, then lightly scuff it down when dry and paint over it, it may clean it up a bit.
