What are the raised areas in the bedroom?

What are the raised areas at the bottom of the bedroom walls? I always assumed they were some sort of chase or cavity for wiring and plumbing, but I see nothing under there but more mouse fur. It seems like wiring would be run within the inner and outer skins. Also, the 31 doesn't have them. The mouse fur in a 31 goes all the way to the floor.
There are raised plywood boxes covered with carpet (the 2014 has them covered in hickory veneer) running along the bottom of the bedroom walls and one raised plywood box on the bedroom side of the bathroom wall (this one may be plumbing?)
I have no idea what they are for or why they are there, but the cat fits perfectly on the one on the back of the bathroom wall.

Airstream was nice enough to put them there for my solar and electrical wiring so I don't have to use the aluminum chases that I had custom built for that purpose. :-))

Other than that, the real reason remains a mystery.

I wondered if it was structural- but then why would the 31 not have them?
The ones on the side make an already small aisle even smaller.
I appreciate the one by the bathroom if for no other reason than cat storage...
I wish mine were covered in hickory veneer like the 2014...

Could they be removed or altered/customized to be storage lockers?

Hi, my trailer has one of those; I removed it once to see what it was all about. Mine has one heater duct and the box covers the end of a wheel well. I want to make a nicer one out of Oak some day. [hard to find the screws through the carpet]

I really think there is nothing in mine. The heat vent is in the wall under the television.
I think the wheel well is under the shower.

Cat storage...
We usually throw all the bedding in the aisle and crawl in the end of the bed...

The cat is sitting on a box covering the edge of the water heater. The long one on the wall has vey long screws holding them to ribs. Remove long box THEN the water heater box.. At least on ours.

There was nothing behind the box.

I think the "purpose" is to keep the forward bulkhead from moving astern and give you a place to prop feet when getting dressed or a brace point to push yourself up when you stoop down to fix the bedding.

I find it useful for emergency egress things like wallet, glasses, etc.

Yep. Remote control, reading glasses, cellphone, Mountain Dew, pocket change- oh- and the cat-
Why doesn't the 32 have them?
Thing that make you go hmmmm...
I like the fact that they are covered in hickory veneer on the 2014's.
