Here's a picture from a recent ebay listing. As mentioned, they came with different backs and wood finishes. Search "Leg-o-matic" on ebay in both current and completed auctions to see other examples.

Wooden chair

wahoonc: I just bought a leg o matic on Ebay from a dealer in Hardeeville SC. Is that far from you? I just wanted to get it to have dimensions and design for the metal parts of the mechanism. You could pick it up or I could have them ship it to you so your Dad could look at it. Then you could send to me later. If interested, pm your address and I will send it to you. You can see the chair at this address. Ebay address for folding chair

Quality parts,
Hardeeville, SC is about 6 hours from me But thanks for the offer! I think with the pictures and the dimensions we can come up with a working model. Finding or deciding what is the right type of hardware will be the fun part. Check out the ones on the link that I posted, I have done folding chairs before using the "roto-hinges" they are pretty neat and easy to work with, you just drill a hole and glue it in. We are redoing the inside color scheme on our 78 from the orange/yellow and green to something a little more subtle.

Shari,
Thanks for the pictures I ran a search on ebay this morning using the words "legomatic" but it didn't come up with much but then again that was BC (before coffee )

wood chairs

Use 'leg-o-matic' for your search. There should still be at least two listings on Ebay

Try this...

Leg-o-matic search on ebay.

Also, be sure to scroll down and check out the completed auctions to see some of the various back styles.

Lightbulb Hey Look!

Looking through the Saturday morning store flyers, I came across an ad in Bed, Bath & Beyond's for wooden folding chairs.

For those who may not want to "do the ebay thing" this may be a good option to persue.

Wanted..Wood Folding Chairs AS

I don't know whether they are still listed in the Camping World Master Catalog, but I purchased four reproductions of the "Leg-O-Matic" chairs from Camping World in 2000 (they were sold as folding dining chairs). They are virtually exact reproductions, and were available in either light maple or blonded oak finishes with off-white vinyl seats. In 2000, they retailed for $49.00 each (President's Club Price). I must have discarded my most recent copy of the Camping World Master Catalog as it was not in my catalog drawer.

I still have two of mine in their original packaging, but they are with my Overlander about 400 miles South in storage. I do remember, however, that the company doing the manufacturing was overseas.

Wanted..Wood Folding Chairs AS

I made a trip home for the Holiday, and ran across one of my reproduction chairs and its original packing. It is called the Unique Seat and was produced for Timely Products (of Phoenix, AZ) in Malaysia. From a functionality standpoint, it works and has a very similar mechanism to that employed by the "Leg-O-Matic" chairs. It is in what was called a "blonded maple" finish with "antique satin" vinly upholstery. Its SKU number was 41272; and I believe that its Camping World catalog number was 65287941272. I believe that when I purchased my set of four that they President's Club Price was $46.99.

A photo of the opened chair is below:

The photo below is of the under-chair mechanism on the reproduction chairs that I purchased from Camping World.

This is a photo of the same reproduction chair when folded ready for travel. It fits in the same storage space provided for the original chair.

Leg-o-matic chairs

I was at a swap meet in Long Beach Ca.,and saw 5 of the leg o matic chairs. They were priced around $25 each, since I live in South Carolina, I decided not to buy them. There are 2 on Ebay now. PJ
