Yep, that was the same bathroom we used the tile doc on. It was a breeze to put on, of course its all about surface prep, cleaning, removing all silicone (see http://www.airforums.com/forums/f446...elp-34699.html) soap scum, hard water films etc. Light repair of cracks etc then painting. We sprayed it, took 2 kits to do the entire bathroom tub/sink/bench and end cap (including the tub surround). We found after one coat the bright white made the end cap look dingy. I've heard from others that they can tint the stuff, also some other products out there that members have had luck with.

Thanks, it took several days on and off to remove the silicone, then the trim and fixtures etc. The actual spray time was probably 20 minutes per coat, then the flash time between coats. I forget the thread but several other forums members were using it and tipped us off to the product, so theirs would been in use much longer than ours. The big secret to a good finish as with any paint product is prep prep prep. It must be as clean as possible.

I was in there today and think I'm going to tackle the sink and platform first just to get used to the product. If I do ok, then I'll take on the tub. If not, I'll be paying someone to come and spray it.

I mean it, you're my heroine!!

Thanks for all of this information. We are trying to figure out what to do with our AS. We have had it since March 2009 and all that we have done is take out the junk that was laying around in it. I sure would like to get started. I miss camping. We were orginally going to gut the whole thing and start over. I think that we need to revisit that idea because of the cost of starting over on everything. But I think that we could still gut it and hopefully save parts of it like the tub and bathroom and clean it up.

How has all these epoxies held up the past couple of years?
I can't get much help finding stuff at the hardware stores, even Sherwin and Williams only will sell their stuff to contractors. Only tile doc they will sell to me.
I am starting to lean taking it all out and re-doing it with stainless steel, but not sure who I would go to find those resources.
Been spinning my wheels since last fall when we bought her.

Jerbear--

Funny--I haven't been on the forum in ages, but I guess I"m still subscribed to this thread!

We got the epoxy paint sprayed by a pro because we had a poor undersurface and it needed more work (the first coat led to a surface like an orange skin, which needed tons of sanding). However, the result is still the same: epoxy paint on an old fiberglass surface. It's been fine--but bear in mind, this tub does not get tons of use. I think tile doc is fine--it's the same stuff. Eventually, any surface will get scratches from use--when that gets too bad, it's time to sand it and resurface.
