I have a 1964 Overlander and this mirror is giving me trouble, I'd like to remove it. Anybody have any tips? I can't seem to get my drill in there to get drill out the rivets. Is a giant hammer my best option. I'm sorry this is kind of a dumb question. Most everything else has been simple to remove and this one seems unique.
Hammer plus a stiff putty knife to shear the river off?

From the looks of it, that mirror is likely glued to the backing plate. Use a heat gun or hairdryer on the mirror, then pry the mirror off the backing plate. This should expose screws or rivets.

If I recall on my '63, I had to chisel off the 2 rivet heads where the bracket attaches to the endcap the I tilted up the mirror to drill out the hinge rivets.
