There's no place like home, there's no...

I was cruising at lightspeed this evening and I happened upon this pic of an AS on the roof of a hotel in South Africa. I just had to share...

Her name is Dorothy

Any other WILD interiors out there? Show me, show me, show me!

Interesting, but I would not want to do any back woods camping in it.

We'd have a hard time sleeping in that, but it takes all kinds to make the world--and there's room out there for all of us.

...and I certainly wouldn't want to do any back woods drinking in it either!

It is cute though...for a 13 year old girl ~ maybe. Very creative ~

I think that's the only place I'd want to be in that thing, and I'd have to have been drinking to be in it then...
I wouldn't want any of my friends to see me going in or out of it.

Somehow, I knew you'd chime in Bill ~ but as I recall, you loved it so much, it was the first thing to go!

House of Dreams or ???

How about this one from the 1996 Neiman Marcus Christmas Catalog designed by MacKenzie-Childs?

The bathroom is hardly recognizable as an Airstream under all that pasta! Yes, pasta!

See colorful link above for more pics ~

This is a photo of one of several Airstreams, each with a different interior design, being hoisted onto the roof of the Grand Daddy Hotel in South Africa.

The Ten Thousand Wave hotel/spa in Santa Fe, NM also uses Airstreams for some of its rooms.

Looks like the Airstreams they used were standard off the line Bambi's:

Yes, many hours of stripping time and many gallons of stripper.

WOW!
There are some really interesting interiors out there! Thanks for contributing.

I never would have thought of pasta as a design element, or pepto bismol for that matter.

When I was searching craigslist for my own Airstream I happened upon one in Napa that the PO had tiled, I mean TILED! The entire inside had been done-over (over-done) with porcelain tiles, wall to wall, and floor to ceiling, all set in a mortar bed. It had started to sink into the ground from the weight. No doubt it's still sitting there.

Thanks, Rich

In the '70's, all those interiors would have been just fine with the proper "medicine".

Well, maybe the Hello Kitty interior never would be fine no matter how much medicine there was.
