What is difference between a chicken and a pig at breakfast?

Chicken is INVOLVED

Pig is COMMITTED!

Loving the ideas! I knew I would find some here! I don't have any pic's of her in pj's, she has lot's of clothes (just ask her daddy) but she sleeps in the buff! She really is a wonderful little girl and we adore her. Glad you all are liking the post, this is a great group!! This is going to be a very soon project! I will post pictures when we are done.

Split mattress down the center snout to tail.
Make an "insert" that fits in center.
Or just make one for one side of bed, the size she likes. Should not take more than a couple of feet fore to aft. Slide a board between mattress and base. The side by the wall can have legs to the floor.

I extended our mattress support by 3 inches just adding some gussets and overlaying the existing plywood base with a 6 or 8 inch piece of 3/8"plywood screwed to the existing. We then bought a wider mattress to get to 54". You could use your idea and pull the mattress away from the wall and fill the space there with a bolster that you can use for support while lounging. Our 25 lb dog is too much so he is relegated to his own bed....can't imagine a 50 pounder!

Order Airstream's pig bed extension. There, that was a simple solution.
Next?

I like the idea of the pull out tray. with a comfortable "pig bed" topper like from the pet shop. Does the front room sofa pull out? Most parents don't sleep with their older children!

PiggySu is a spooner. She has to be touching, even if only one hoof!! She also keeps a temp of 98-100. No cold nights. I like the idea of attaching to the existing permanently.

What comes after sleeping? Eating.

Please don't tell me she is also taking over the entire trough at meal time.

To me, you trying to figure out a way to make that bed bigger is kind of like trying to "make a silk purse of a sow's ear"

Enjoy,
