Subwoofer info for a Sony CDX-CA710X

Anyone out there have the standard Sony CD player model listed in the title and have the optional subwoofer? If so can anyone share the part number of the subwoofer the factory installed in either 2004 or 2005 that connects to this unit? My coach is prewired for it, just need to drop it in.

Thanks.

Xs-aw850

Silvertwinkie, I'm still looking for the PN, but the Sony model number is: XS-AW850 - 5 Channel Active Subwoofer. It sounds awesome in the AS. Currently my best speaker system.

Thanks Ken. Model number is good too!

Now that both cars have a sub, I've gotten kind of spoiled.

I'm trying to figure out the best 12 volt sound system for my '67 Airstream, and am looking hard at a subwoofer & satellite speakers. Unfortunately, the stuff in the Crutchfield catalog is more complicated than what I dealt with back when I was more in to car stereo.

If I am reading the literature right, it appears that, for a given CD player/AM-FM receiver, you can either wire two speakers directly into the unit, or run the two preamp out plugs to another amplifier. The other amplifier provides all amplification, and the bandpass necessary to operate the subwoofer.

I could do that, but since I have no plans to crank it up in a campground & drain my battery, I would just as soon skip the extra amplifier.

Can anyone recommend a decent head unit that will run two small speakers plus a subwoofer?

Or, does anyone have a better approach to adding tunes using automotive radio gear?

Thanks,
Tom

I asume the system is wired for Sub out. My sony deck is the same. If they ran the wires you just need to find out to where. Any powered sub should work. Something like a Bazooka tube would do the trick. I run Bazookas in our T/V and a hatch back. Pretty decent for the size. http://www.sasbazooka.com/

Sony from Wally world. I just bought one for my 4Runner. It was $159 for the CD head unit that will suport inputs with an adaptor from a Ipod or a disc changer. Should be able to feed it Audio from a TV as well if the TV has RCA out. Has a wireless remote even. Pick the speakers for the area you have from there. It is reated 45 watts per channel and its doing quite well in my truck with a pair of 4's in the dash and a pair of 6x9's in the rear.
