Stripping the Interior End Caps--Am I Nuts?

So, my Looosy is finally starting her richly deserved restoration. I have lots of ideas of what I would like to do, and I'm wondering about the interior endcaps. I am planning on repainting the rest of the interior (except the birch cabinet doors) and am thinking that polished endcaps would be cool. They are currently painted like the rest of the interior.
Is this idea more trouble than its worth?

Thanks.

Re: Stripping end caps

On the DIY website:http://www.diynetwork.com they completely redo a 70's AS. They painted the end caps with a silver paint.

Another picture can be seen on that show's decorator's website:

Also, check out the cool floor...it's cork. I've spent hours staring at the pics

Check other posts concerning painting interiors. Generally, not considered a good idea. The DIYNetwork project does not appeal to a lot of Airstream folks. Think it over carefully, especially if you may decide to sell in the future.
