storage modifications
HI
My husband is a cabinet maker and quite handy:
*He built a new cabinet next to the stove for glasses (the original was very narrow and too long, we now can have the coffee maker under the cabinet)
*He took apart and rebuilt the range hood as it stuck out too far and was noisy (we kept bumping our heads on it)
*He made wine glass holders that securely hold the glasses, we have never lost one
*He installed dividers in the upper cabinets to keep everything organized
*He made a handle for the antenna when the cheap plastic one broke
*He mounted the TV and made a shelf for the DVD player directly below the TV; easy to open and close to secure for travel
*He took apart the bottom drawers and rebuilt them much longer (as there was nothing behind the drawers) so I have more storage for pots and pans, initially it took two drawers just for the pots
*He took apart the useless narrow single rollouts and dividers, installed new large mesh drawer rollouts with enough room on the side for baking sheets, large trays
*He took apart two small bottom drawers (below the closets with nothing below them) and rebuilt them much deeper, deep enough for all the tall bottles (wine, olive oil, etc.) to stand
you can barely see the extension until you open the drawers
*He made two storage foot rest stools useable for extra seating
* The closet next to the refrigerator is extra deep (initially only had a hanging rod) so he moved the rod forward enough to add shelves along the back of the closet for extras
*He added a c;ear front and clear dividers to the bottom shelf in the bathroom, now everything has a place and stays in place during travel
*He added dividers on the top shelf to keep everything organized (not visible – He installed a very small shelf behind the top shelf for extra supplies)
*He has changed or added more locks on some of the drawers and cabinets to secure during travel.
*We added a shear stationary curtain between the bath and living area to further privatize the bath, which has French pocket doors
We keep coming up with ideas, who knows if we will ever be done...but we are close
I have lots of pics in here somewhere but I have no idea how to get them into this post. I have even more that I have not gotten into this site.
I brought these ideas to the attention of the powers that be at Airstream Alumapalooza and I think they are looking at using some as they were very interested in our changes when they toured the Airstream, even taking photos.

I've seen Don's work, he is indeed VERY handy. Lucky you.
Hope the powers that be pay attention, they could use some help on a lot of stuff.

Hi! This is my second reply, so forgive me if this is a repetition. Your husband's work sounds fantastic! As I read your post I was wondering what year and model you have! I am constantly looking for new ways to organize and make our 2006, 28 ft. International better! Am looking forward to your pics!

Oh, thought I had posted it.
We have a 1999 28' Classic.
My husband also put in a nice wood floor slightly lighter than the wood cabinets and we reupholstered the sofa and all the valances w a Tommy Bahama tropical fabric to lighten up the rig.

Storage modification
We are new AS owners and new to the forum. Just now seeing this thread but have to say, not only is your husband handy, he is also a craftsman. My wife wanted to know if you rent him out? As for me, I wanted to know, instead of wine glasses, where do your store the red solo cups!!!!??? Really nice work.
