I submitted a resolve earlier last year on spiders that was presented on television due to the skin reaction by humans on some of the sprays and chemicals used to kill the 8 leg pests.
Answer: Downey Softener sheets. They work great and don't smell like moth balls! I haven't had a black widow or any spider problem since. they last for about 3 months inside. I stick them in the floor near the door, and any openings (like inside the closet/floor where the water pump is).

Also, a little off topic..... to keep mice out, use stanless steel pads and stuff them in the tube opening (under the hitch) so those little critters can't make a home.

Just saying......

I heard that Bounce is good to keep black flies away when tucked under the collar of your shirt or in the outside hat band of your hat when canoeing so maybe Downey will work with spiders in the trailer. I think I'll use all three things, moth balls, pieces of flea collars and softner sheets in various places. I'll probably have to air the thing out for a week before I'll be able to live in there myself.
One thing I won't do is keep spiders around as pets.

Bluto- HedgeApples may be your answer. There's a post here titled, Spiders in my Argosy, by wanderer1, with alot of replies in the favor of HedgeApples to keep spiders out. Check it out.

I always wondered - what exactly is a jeebie?
And is the Heebie part of the jeebie or does it describe it?

Thanks for telling me about that thread. Sounds like there are a lot of us with this problem. I have seen the apples but never knew what good they were. I'll check into it further. I thought that the idea someone had about spraying around the tires and jack post might help too.
