Reservations on painting dark Int値 interior.

Looking to buy first used AS. I like Int値 serenity and signature, but not with dark paneling. If I update by painting all or some dark portions, will I take a greater hit should I resell in 2-4 years? Appreciate your thoughts. BTL5

My guess is that it would take a hit. The walls of both the International Signature and Serenity are a Formica type laminate. Painting this surface would only appeal to someone who was also planning to paint. Once painted you can never god back to factory.
If I were you I would try to find a Serenity unit if you like the lighter color.
Just my $.02 take it for what it’s worth.

I agree with GMFL, you'll never get the finish to come out anywhere near the quality of the original. Most knowledgeable buyers who are looking for an International want one of the two models specifically for the original interior. IMHO I believe you would be compromising the resale value of the trailer. We have a 28' Serenity and love the light airy feel that the light interior provides.

We have a '19 serenity, which has the light color interior.

As mentioned, take the time to find the International that appeals to YOU.

Since your trying to flip it in a very short period of time (in Airstream years), don't change anything or else you will have a very narrow buyers market when you want to flip it.

Nobody cares about your vision and how beautiful you made it to suit you. Perspective buyers will want it as close to the original configuration from the factory and not have to deal with added layers of non factory modifications......including paint.

Don't mean to sound harsh, but if you said you were keeping it for a few decades....then it would make sense, but since your have a short own time....it doesn't make sense.

Good luck in your quest, be interesting to see where you land.

Get the Globetrotter with the Light Interior or the Serenity.
The International Signature may be discontinued and those searching for a Pristine Used Signature int he future may dismiss yours.
There is no Perfect Airstream and at the same time all Airstreams are perfect.

Reservations on painting dark Int値 interior.

Don稚 do it. It痴 like painting over clear-coated oak cabinets with a solid color paint - a ton of work, never looks quite right, very difficult to get a good bond on the surface, and will wear and tear / chip.
