replacing the '93 gaucho

The 93 gaucho couch is ok for sitting but is a back breaker for sleeping. Anyone do a aftermarket fold out that is half comfortable? I'm even thinking a futon might be better for sleeping.

Might be improved with new cushions. Ones with memory foam offer much more comfort.

Thanks, but, don't want to improve it. I want to replace it with another couch/ sleeping area.

I know that Tim Shepard of the VAP podcast used a couch in his trailer. I emailed him about it back when I redid my Trade Wind but I went with the gaucho because of all the storage under it. I did use extra firm foam on the gaucho and it sleeps great, even after 5 years and many nights. Here is a link to his blog you may be able to find info on what he used or send him an email. If you don't listen to the VAP podcast you might check it out too. May | 2007 | 1960 Airstream Ambassador Blog!
