removing interior skins

is there a thread on removing the interior lower skins on my 1974 sovereign?
it looks like the skins in the back ( rear bedroom) go all the way up thru the closets and the bathroom on the other side.. do you cut these off at the wall?


i need to repalce the subfloor on the back and the front of the coach there are wholes rotted in and also replace some out riggers that are disentegrated

Remove the cabinetry in the area, then drill out the rivets & remove the panel. It'll be a lot faster to do it right, than butchering the walls.

While we're on the subject of rear skins... I am trying to reassemble and would like to know if anyone can offer me some reassembly assistance. My skins were assembled in an underlap, suggesting the endcap was placed, middle skin, then lower skin(descending vertically). Is this even correct? So should the end cap go on first, then skins? Any other tips on getting the endcap up would be appreciated. Sorry to hijack, but at least it's semi-on topic. I am getting desperate, as this is the second day I have been attempting this. Thanks.

Yeah, the endcaps go in first, with clecos, then install enough 1/8" pop rivets to hold them in place. The ceiling typically comes next, but leave the lower edges "flapping" as some of the lower panels will go behind & some on top. If you can't remember which, take a good look at the joint for wear or dirt marks, or look at the panel edge as they should not be ragged & each seam should be about 1/2" from the rivet line holding it down. Use lots of clecos & you'll figure it out before wasting too many rivets.

On end cap install: can anyone give specific step by step suggestions? I have ( I believe) abs and it is really floppy. Can this be installed by one person? I am beginning to feel I need to use some sort of framing to hold its shape. My ceiling is installed forward of the rear area (I was only replacing the rear floor). So I'm thinking I must first slide it over the ceiling area just a few inches but it is hard to keep it from sagging to allow it to be slid the entire width. That is why I think I may need another person or external support. Any expert maneuvering techniques I am missing?
